For some time here at Dirt Buzz we’ve had a mild obsession with Russia. Call us crazy, but for some reason the thought of traveling the Trans-Siberian railway from start to finish would be an adventure we’d like to experience one day. The thought of working our way across the steppes and on in to Siberia in a vodka-induced haze, borscht for lunch, while stopping off at old cold-war soviet-era towns has strange allure.
So naturally we're curious as to what goes down in the offroad scene in a place like Russia. And a place within Russia that has us even more intrigued is the Siberian peninsula of Kamchatka (камчатка). This is place so far removed from civilization that it’s one of the most difficult places in the world to get to. It also happens to be part of the “Ring of Fire,” and as such, is one of the most volcanic places on earth. Oh, and did we mention they have the biggest brown bears on the planet, rivaled in size only by that of the Alaskan Kodiak bear?
With a strong sense of adventure in mind, we bring you the Kamchatka moto crew: an eclectic mix of DRZ, WR, CRF-X, TTR, and minibike wielding offroad rippers crossing streams and living dreams in Kamchatka. Bonus points for the salty Limp Bizkit soundtrack. We're already trying to figure out how we get there someday.
"Do you even Enduro, bro?”
