Mike Brown Ends Season with a 3rd Overall Finish
HUSQVARNA PRESS INFORMATION, 11/23/15
The 2015 EnduroCross season came to a close this past weekend in Ontario, California. The arena was packed for the series finale. The track included an elevated log chute, a firewood pit, tractor tires, and multiple sand sections. Rockstar Energy rider Husqvarna backed, Colton Haaker and Rockstar Energy Husqvarna Factory Racing's Mike Brown finished in 1st and 2nd place for the first of the evenings hot laps. This ensured an extra point to Haaker who was battling for a first place series overall win. For the first main heat race, Haaker sped out of the gate to take the holeshot. A minor obstacle put him out into sixth place, but within 2 laps, Colton was back in the lead to take the win for another extra point.
Heat 2 started off with a bang, as Mike Brown took the holeshot. Brown then battled for the top four spots back and forth until he came up short on a double, and jammed his wrist, ending his night. Next for the night was another Hot Lap battle. Colton Haaker was focused on getting another point towards the championship. His focus and speed led him to win the hot laps by just 1 second to secure that extra point! As the main heat started, Haaker was battling for the top three spots. Getting tangled up with a competitor caused Colton to fall towards the back of the pack. Colton's winning drive and racing skill pushed him back towards the front of the pack where he was able to finish in third place. Husqvarna Motorcycles would like to congratulate Colton Haaker on his 2nd place overall finish to the 2015 EnduroCross season, followed Mike Brown in 3rd place.
Sandra Gomez, a Husqvarna Motorcycles rider headed into the Ontario final round with a one point lead for the Championship. She started off the women's final race in third place, and by lap 2 she was in the lead. From that point on, Sandra rode with a flawless skill and came home with the race and championship win!
